Q: How do I Opt-in or Opt-out of the use of my personal information?

  • The only information that will be shared is information which you provide at the time you register as a forum user. Only your user name, registration date and (optional) information you voluntarily provide are shared with others when they click on your user name in a forum or posting. This is your forum "profile." Although supplying a valid email is mandatory, it is never used except to notify you as per your selections, or to send you a new password. You may opt-in to make your email address publicly visible in the forums by making the appropriate selection at time of registration (defaults to opt-out). You may also change your choices at any time by logging into the forums and selecting the "Preferences" link.
  • You may opt-in or opt-out to receive notification by email whenever someone replies to a topic (thread). To do so, make your selection by checking the appropriate eMail "Notification" or "Unsubscribe" link beneath the message box on the forum and topic pages. Only one choice will appear, depending upon your current selection status (i.e., if you are currently subscribed, only "Unsubscribe" will appear).

Policy Evaluation

Microsoft Internet Explorer (since version 6) will evaluate this policy's compact policy whenever it is used with a cookie. The actions it will take depend on what privacy level the user has selected in their browser (Low, Medium, Medium High, or High); the default is Medium). In addition, IE will examine whether the cookie's policy is considered satisfactory or unsatisfactory, whether the cookie is a session cookie or a persistent cookie, and whether the cookie is used in a first-party or third-party context. This section will attempt to evaluate this policy's compact policy against Microsoft's stated behavior for IE6.

Satisfactory policy: this compact policy is considered satisfactory according to the rules defined by Internet Explorer and all other known browsers utilizing P3P technology.
